That's what Chaz's got.
Uh-huh. What?
Maybe it's a phase - I hope it isn't because he's male, cause then there's absolutely no hope and I was kinda counting on hope.
He is a hip hoppin fool. He LOVES Miss Danielle and her sons, Viper and Wild. This, and Wii, is my leverage - seeing as I have to negotiate with my bargaining boy.
Sidenote - Yesterday Charlie and I decided Rudy's Wii was Bii - Bee - he likes to pounce on them in the ball field down the street and has just as much fun as Charlie does when he plays his game.

Little Bird and the Story of Ninjaia
Just the other day a little birdie told me that while he was enjoying a light breakfast of seeds with some friends, a little boy silently snuck up behind him, grabbed him directly by the tail feathers - which scared Little Bird, forcing him to fly away - and didn't let go. Boy was he shocked, that Little Bird, he was! So shocked in fact that he left his feathers behind - a whole clump of them, in fact - in the hand of the little lightfooted boy with quick hands.
With a clump of feathers pinched between thumb and forefinger, the boy shrieked in delight and ran toward mother, Ninjami. In horror she shrieked, Ninjampa, the grandfather, grinned from ear to ear with astonished pride at the boy's cunning and fast as lightning grab, and Ninjimi, the Mimi of the little boy recounted this rather remarkable tale to her friends who shook their heads with near disbelief as they stood tending the outskirts of woods in Memorial Park.
The wounded pride of Old Little Bird healed, as did the new pink little patch. Word spread of the boy with hands faster than lightning, things were said such as, "...just a boy..." and "with his hands" and "had I not seen it - I would not have believed it myself!" and the word of the little boy with a soft step and quick hands was spread.
Little Bird and the Story of Ninjaia is how this incident came to be known.
As the mother of the little bird catching boy I must say, no birds were hurt in the telling of this story - one may have been bruised - on his behind. I AM happy to say that Chirpy flew away - less a few tail feathers - with a mighty fine tale to tell his grand chirpies. And this is how it began, "Long ago little ones, a boy who we all know now as Ninjaia..."

Mama Sabotage
After Breakfast with the Wilson's at Betsy's Diner, we headed out to the GIANT model airplane show in Falmouth - Mashpee? - I really need to look at a map. But anyhow we went. To the show. Only Charlie is at the END of this terrible phase where he refuses to let me take a picture of him unless he bribes something out of me. Negotiating at five, what I wonder will he be doing by the time he is ten?
He already uses the word sabotage - correctly - in a sentence. And now, he practices it:
Charlie sabotaged Mama's photoshoot by transforming from Charlie Bean into Charlie Horse without the added phonebooth prop.
Where does a superhero or his evil foil make the change?

Summer Reading Signups start today! The Summer Reading Program encourages families with kids of all ages to read during the summer. Participants are given a chance to pledge how much time they would like to read each day when they sign up. The suggested time is 20 minutes a day, but you can read more! Read on your own, have someone read to you, or listen to an audio book—it all counts! Small prizes are awarded each week to children who reach their reading goal. Registration is open anytime between today, June 22, 2010 and July 24th. Children who are visiting Falmouth are warmly invited to join in. Sign up at the Main Library or at the East Falmouth or North Falmouth Branches. (Participants also get to write their names on leaves and put them on our lovely tree. By the end of the summer we hope it will be fully leafed out. You’ll of course want to pop in to help us out!)
Come down to the library to grab a copy of the summer reading brochure for the schedule for Special Tuesday Programs, Wednesday afternoon craft days, book groups, pajama story times, and all the rest of the summer fun. Young Adult activities are also listed in the brochure, so get your copy today.
Our first program is Tuesday June 29th at 3pm. It’s called “Hats Off to Reading,” stars Keith Michael Johnson, and is sure to be a raucous good time. See you there!
Questions? Call the Children’s Room at 508-457-2555 ext. 2920.
