Cape Cod Cowboy

I never photographed the Wild West - but I reckon - it wasn't an easy task.

Just Another Day on the Cape

Sunday, August 29, 2010 - Took Red Dog to Hadley's Harbor for a picnic lunch.  Since the moorings were all taken we tried something new and anchored just outside the harbor.  I have never photographed this view.  We encountered MUCH seaweed.  Charlie named a lump Nessy - and we brought it home - guess I should find it before the stink finds me...

Anchor slipped and we moved up. Mostly calm - rough through the pass by Woods Hole - but isn't it always?  Both Charlie and I swam - shore side of the boat was warm, channel side was brrr chilly.  Chaz had his shorty wet suit on for a second dip.  What will September bring?

The Indiana Jones Widget

To the Knob

Why is it called the Knob?  I'm not sure - didn't listen.  But it is shaped like a door knob - or any knob for that matter.  It juts out into the water like a penninsula and it is a large bit of land overlooking Quisset Harbor.  The following weekend we took the boat out for a picnic in Quisset Harbor for another point of view.  Nice.  (But it was a little too cold to swim with a sniffly nose.)
Charlie is trying out his thinking man pose.  He looks like a catalogue model.  Is it possible I found a turning leaf?  It was yellow-orange.

The trip - July 30th. The blog on trip - a bit delayed.

Little Cousin

Charlie's little cousin sure loves him! He entertains her with armpit toots. Hmm. (At least I got him to call them toots - right?)

Swimmingly

The kids of Stony Beach - all Falmouth Beaches, in fact - got to show their stuff at the Robert L. Kendall Memorial Swim Meet earlier today in Buzzard's Bay at the Mass Maritime Academy.  The gigantic poster they painted yesteday before swim lessons marked this small but stellar team's spot in the stands.

Here Charlie's chatting up the parents and grandparents while awaiting his time to swim.  You would never know - he later admitted - he was nervous.
Truly I think the nerves kicked in once he slid in the water, but Coach Jess gave him some instructions and he swam his little heart out and came in second!

Then he swam in another race and came in 4th!  What a great day!

A Bad Case of the I Hear You But I am Not Listening

That's what Chaz's got.

Uh-huh. What?

Maybe it's a phase - I hope it isn't because he's male, cause then there's absolutely no hope and I was kinda counting on hope.

He is a hip hoppin fool.  He LOVES Miss Danielle and her sons, Viper and Wild.  This, and Wii, is my leverage - seeing as I have to negotiate with my bargaining boy.

Sidenote - Yesterday Charlie and I decided Rudy's Wii was Bii - Bee - he likes to pounce on them in the ball field down the street and has just as much fun as Charlie does when he plays his game.
